COVID-19 INFORMATION

Dear Families, Residents and Visitors,

The COVID-19 outbreak around the country remains of significant concern.  In accordance with the state and federal government directives to minimise the risk of Covid-19 entering our community, we will remain vigilant.

The link below provides updated advice from NSW Department of Health.  Please regularly review this advice and share it with any family members who may wish to visit.

Advice to residential aged care facilities - COVID-19 (Coronavirus) (nsw.gov.au)

 

 

  • From Monday the 11th of October, visitors must have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to their visit and must present proof to staff on entry.

  • Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted to enter Mater Christi.

  • Covid Safe check-ins including Service NSW will continue.

  • Masks will still be required for all indoor areas, except when eating and drinking.

  • Two visitors per day are welcome between the hours of 9am-4pm.

  • All visits must be confined to the resident’s room or an outside area.

  • All visitors are to follow covid protocols including social distancing, handwashing and wearing a surgical face mask in Mater Christi.

  • Visits on compassionate grounds and for end of life care will continue unchanged concurrent with these orders.

  • Video conferencing or phone contact is supported by our lifestyle team for families who are unable to visit in person.

  • For family seeking to take a resident home for a small family gathering within approved guidelines, they must confirm the vaccination status of all persons expected at the family gathering.

  • Remember, if you are not feeling well, or have a family member who is unwell, please stay away.

  • If you have any cold or flu symptoms, please have a covid test and see your doctor.

Questions and Answers

Can I visit my loved one?

All visitors MUST see Mater Christi reception area prior to entering the facility.
No visitors from hotspot locations will be permitted into the facility.
Please check the top of this page for specific UPDATES relating to visitors.
You will be screened for illness, asked questions of recent travel, and have your temperature tested. YOU MUST WEAR THE MASK PROVIDED FOR THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF YOUR VISIT. 
ALL VISITORS MUST CHECK IN USING THE SERVICE NSW QR code PROVIDED and provide evidence of DOUBLE COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS.


Do I still have to have had a flu shot?

YES.
All visitors to Mater Christi Residential facility can not enter without evidence of a current flu shot. 
We strongly recommend no visitors onsite at Marian Grove with out a flu shot.


What about going to the cafe?

Please check in with our reception areas for latest information relating to the opening hours and restrictions around the Grove Cafe.
