SCC The Link was delighted to host the opening of the 'Young at Art' project exhibition starting Wednesday 12th October 2022.
The ‘Young at Art’ Trial Project was funded by the NSW Government, through it’s Country Art support program/Arts Mid North Coast, facilitated by local Art Educator Jess Miller of The Art Department Co., and documented by local photographer Leah Moore.
The object of this project was to encourage meaningful connections between residents from Mater Christi Residential Aged Care, and Stage 1 students from Mary Help of Christians School Toormina, through the practice of visual art.
Students and residents met and worked together using various mediums such as photography, drawing, painting and clay making.
The opening saw participants, their families and friends come together to celebrate making connections and creating art.
Thank you to all of the Mater Christi residents and Mary Help of Christian students who were the stars of the project.
The exhibition will be running until the end of October so come on in and take part in intergenerational art!
